Zachary J. Nesper

Zac spent two decades in corporate finance at Hewlett-Packard and HP Inc., rising from financial analyst to SVP and Global Treasurer. In that role, he oversaw treasury operations spanning 60+ countries and $1.5 trillion in financial flows. He managed an $8 billion annual capital return program, a $400 billion derivatives portfolio, and $14 billion in pension assets.

He led a multiyear treasury transformation that returned $350 million in net present value on a $30 million investment—closing 300+ bank accounts, exiting 30 banking relationships, migrating to SAP HANA, and freeing over $500 million in previously idle cash. The program won an Alexander Hamilton Award for Treasury Transformation after the HP separation (the 2015 split of Hewlett-Packard into HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise) and was entirely self-funded through captured savings.

Zac also co-architected HP Treasury’s successful defense against a hostile takeover, committing $16 billion in shareholder returns while maintaining an investment-grade credit rating. In addition, he executed a $5.2 billion pension risk transfer to Prudential—one of the largest in technology history—and drove the pension fund to over 100% funded status, with performance ranked in the top 1% of peers.

His FX program reduced enterprise currency sensitivity by 60% and earned Global Finance’s recognition as Best Corporate in the World for FX Risk Management.

Before treasury, Zac spent a decade in FP&A and strategic finance, including six years leading financial planning for HP’s $28 billion printing division. He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar, and he is a CFA charterholder. He’s an AI enthusiast and did coursework at Stanford on AI systems.

Zac founded Treasury Outcomes to bring the same analytical rigor and operational discipline that drove results at HP to technology companies that want fast, high-value optimization but don’t have the bandwidth or headcount to pursue it internally.
